Born: 1954
Canon History: There are some who call him the Jigsaw Killer (mainly the police and the media) but he has never encouraged this. Once upon a time, he was a successful civil engineer, and a devoted husband to his wife Jill. But then his unborn son was killed, his marriage disintegrated and he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He was disgusted and despairing at the ungrateful people he saw all around him, unappreciative of the lives he felt they were unworthy of. He tried to kill himself, but survived, and underwent a rebirth of sorts. He decided to test the ungrateful individuals he’d seen, to see if they could learn to appreciate their lives. At the cost of blood and suffering… He claims to have never killed anyone, to despise murderers, and believes that everyone should be given a chance.
AU/RP History: In the AU where John usually roleplays, not only did Amanda Young and Detective Hoffman become his apprentices, but Zep Hindle also (he passed his test and is alive in that universe). John’s son Gideon survived his in utero trauma, and it was Jill who died in childbirth, leaving John to struggle on as a single father. He was devastated by Jill’s death, but did the best he could to raise his son right. John still was later diagnosed with cancer and decided to test the unappreciative of the world, but he has a stronger support network for his activities now.
Personality: AU John is far less cold and detached in his personal relationships than canon!John, with moments of intense tenderness. He strives to be a good father and a strong mentor to his apprentices. He does keep that philosophy of emotional detachment and bringing enlightenment for the test subjects, however. John has a fatherly temperament and is most kindly with child muses, and reserves special contempt and wrath for anyone who would dare harm a child!
Sexuality: My John muse has mostly been drawn to women in his love life, but occasionally a very special man can capture his notice. Currently he has two lovers, his apprentices Amanda and Zep, and he is tender and devoted with them, though he can be stern when the three are in the mentor and apprentices role! (John/Amanda/Zep = the mun’s OT3!!!)
RP and Activities: John writes for several prompt communities and is willing to RP and interact with any muse in any fandom. He’s a chatty muse who welcomes all the roleplay he can get. The more stories he’s involved in, canon-based or AU, the better.
